The Magic Numbers
?Hey, Hey we?re the Monkees! I mean The Beach Boys, no I mean the Mamas and The Papas!? Or. Welcome to the magic world of the Magic Numbers. The British music public seem to have a love affair with 60s influenced American pop that eclipses its American counterparts.
Brian Wilson?s ?lost album? Smile, was received in the U.K. as though someone had discovered a missing copy of the literal words of Jesus! A year later, the Magic Numbers capture the heart of the charts with their swirling, harmony-driven homage to the 60s.
The sound of The Magic Numbers revolves around the brilliant songwriting and guitar playing talents of singer Romeo. Born and raised in Trinidad his family eventually found their way to Ealing. There he met drummer Sean and started making music. To complete the core band line-up they added Romeo?s equally talented sister Michele on bass and vocals, while Sean?s sister Angela takes care of percussion and third vocals. This is the Magic Numbers, they have drawn as much press from walking off Top of the Pops than for their music?but the music is fab, groovy etc. Buy it. You?ll like it.
