The World Question Center is a really interesting place to visit on the web. It is part of a larger site devoted to ideas and critical thinking called the Edge (www.edge.org). It was launched in 1988 out of the success of another group called The Reality Club, a loose collective of intellectual thinkers who gathered on a regular basis to think out loud about radical ideas that might change the world.
