The name of this site is Figments and Inklings. It is the personal site of Erik Davis, author of the must-read book, Techgnosis, and a frequent contributor to Spin, Rolling Stone, Esquire, and countless other pop culture magazines. Davis mines the edges of pop culture looking for rich veins of meaing and significance. The site, which is divided into a number of different sections offers some of the best articles you'll find on subjects as diverse as paganism and hippy-tourism, altered states and rock music, California avant-garde artists and just about everything else in between. He doesn't update that frequently but you could probably spend a good couple of months reading what is already posted on the site.
